Castle Walkthrough Reopens This Holiday Season
The interior of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland will open in time for the December holiday season, offering guests a “reawakened” version of its classic walkthrough presentation kissed with vibrant scenes of Aurora, her charming prince, the evil Maleficent and other characters from the beloved fairy tale film.

Orange Stinger Rethemed
The LA Times is reporting; "The Orange Stinger swing ride will get a new Disney theme and back story as part of the planned $1.1-billion Disney’s California Adventure makeover, Walt Disney Imagineering officials confirmed."

Toy Story Mania! Opens
In a spectacular ceremony featuring sky divers, fireworks and Disney executives, along with NASA Astronauts and Buzz Lightyear on board the International Space Station, the new Toy Story Mania! attraction premiered today in Disney’s California Adventure as part of Disney’s “Year of a Million Dreams.”

Julie Andrews Honored
In beloved recognition and gratitude for her service as Honorary Ambassador of Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration, Disneyland Resort Cast Members have presented legendary star Julie Andrews with a unique dedication that will forever ensure her place in Disneyland’s storied history. This dedication shines in a most appropriate place, on King Arthur’s Carrousel in Fantasyland. Jingles, the lead and most popular horse on the attraction, was painted gold for Disneyland’s special milestone and Julie was photographed with the horse during the festivities. To acknowledge Julie’s role as an honorary cast member, Disneyland Resort has given Jingles a magical makeover and is dedicating the cherished horse in her honor.

"it's a small world" Changes
Walt Disney Imagineering has announced it will make show scene changes to the "it's a small world" attraction in addition to operational changes during the on-going refurbishment. Nationally relevant characters re-stylized to Mary Blair's original vision will be added to the attraction's international show scenes. Pointing to Mary Blair's work on Alice in Wonderland as inspiration for the changes, Imagineering revealed that Alice and the White Rabbit will be melded into the United Kingdom scene. While other specific examples were not revealed, Imagineering has stated that all character additions will "respect and honor the original creative intent" of Blair's original style.

New Playhouse Disney Live! Show
A whole new cast of friends from “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Little Einsteins,” “Handy Manny” and more welcome children and their parents to the all-new “Playhouse Disney Live on Stage!” debuting March 14 at Disney’s California Adventure. The 23-minute stage show begins as Casey, the enthusiastic host of “Playhouse Disney,” and Mickey Mouse bring the guests to visit the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, where everyone helps prepare for Minnie Mouse’s birthday celebration.

Pixar Play Parade Debuts Friday
All the exciting and colorful worlds of the Disney•Pixar pals – from “Toy Story,” “a bug’s life,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Incredibles,” “Cars” and “Ratatouille” – will come to life in the all-new “Pixar Play Parade,” debuting March 14, 2008. Characters will appear in the magical immersive parade, which will invite guests of all ages to take part in the playfulness of a whirling, spinning, fun-for-all animated playground. The parade features acrobatics, bungees, high-energy choreography, interactive surprises and lively bubble and water effects.

Innoventions Dream Home
The Disneyland Resort today announced a five-year alliance with Microsoft, HP, Life|ware and home builder Taylor Morrison to showcase integrated digital technologies for the home in the immersive, story-telling experiences for which Disney is known. The alliance includes the design and development of the new Innoventions Dream Home attraction, a 5,000+ sq. ft. home belonging to the fictional Elias family, scheduled to open in May in Tomorrowland.

Year of the Mouse
The most famous Mouse of all is inviting families to celebrate the Lunar New Year and Year of the Mouse at Disneyland Resort. From February 5-29, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will mark the Year of the Mouse by appearing in festive Asian attire to greet guests and pose for photos near Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A.

A Pirates Life for SHE
Prize Winner, Jenifer Greenwell of Florida, joins the crew inside ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ gallery at Disneyland. Jenifer was selected at random as the grand prize winner from hundreds of thousands of entries in the “Become a Disney Pirate” sweepstakes conducted in connection with the DVD release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Her likeness as “Mademoiselle Greenwell” in pirate costume will stand alongside the others and be viewed by millions of Disneyland guests.

Chief Magic Official
With the Year of a Million Dreams continuing into 2008, the next Disney Dream Job sponsored by Careerbuilder.com has been announced. This year the job offers the opportunity to serve as the Chief Magic Official (CMO) at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. On select weekends throughout the year, the Chief Magic Official will be tasked with dream-making ambassador duties, including appearances at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.

Magic Mornings Launched
Disneyland Park has re-launched its early entry program under the new moniker of "Disneyland Magic Morning". In addition to the new name, the days of the week that the program is offered has been shifted for 2008. Disneyland Magic Mornings are offered to eligible Guests Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday--the former early entry program was offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. The program still allows eligible Guests to experience select Fantasyland and Tommorowland attractions one hour prior to scheduled park opening once during their stay.

New Monorail Cars Arrive
New monorail cars arrived in Disneyland this week. The cars have bench seats facing the windows so travelers can view the parks, resorts and Downtown Disney. The vehicles will debut in late February.
