The Resort Brings Changes

Intercot West is pleased to unveil its refreshed look! The look is designed to help Guests find information for all their trip planning needs with a click of the mouse. This updated look and content reorganization reflects the many changes that have happened at the Disneyland Resort over the past few months. These changes have culminated into today's grand opening of Disney's California Adventure, and Intercot West's launch of its refreshed look and content.
Official Press Release
The New Organization
Guests who have been visiting Intercot West for the past few years will definitely notice some major changes in the way the site is laid out. Below are some of the details behind the changes you'll find on the site:
News
As many Guest may have noticed, it became a bit unwieldy to find out Resort news between two sections of the site. Later on, it may have been somewhat confusing to see all the Resort news in the Disneyland section. With the new organization, the news updates and stories now have their own section of the site. This will allow Guests who aren't planning trips to focus solely on learning about the latest happenings at the Resort. Also watch over the coming months for an ever expanding offering of news features, stories and columns.
Interactive
The interactive section is currently the new home for the discussion boards that over time will feature a growing selection of interactive offerings. For now Guests can feel free to start discussing trip-planning questions, park interests or a plethora of other Disneyland Resort related questions.
Resort Guide
Previously Intercot West featured separate sections for the two theme parks, Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Much of the trip planning details focused on Disneyland Park only, but now that Anaheim sports a new resort, Guests plan trips to the Disneyland Resort. To reflect this change all the details for trip planning have been pulled out of the Disneyland section and into the Resort Guide. Here guests will find everything they need to plan their trip and enjoy their day in both of the Parks. This information will be continually updated over the coming months as more information becomes available on how Guests are visiting the Resort.
Theme Parks
Since Anaheim is no longer a one Disney park town, it only made sense to move all the information on the parks into one section. This will make it much easier to find details on the third theme park as they are released. Downtown Disney is not a theme park itself but it open to the public and essential part of the new resort. It has been included in this section as it offerings are that of an entertainment district. The Theme Parks section is also the creme de la crème of the park information with details on every shop, restaurant, attraction and entertainment complex.
Intercot Shop
The Intercot Shop is still waiting for the dust to settle before setting up its displays and placing merchandise on the shelves. Once open Guests will have an opportunity to purchase many different items sporting the Intercot logo.
Gallery
The extremely popular Disneyland Multimedia Gallery returns featuring one of the largest collections of Disneyland Resort photos anywhere on the web. To date, the collection hosts over 6,000 photos with hundreds more being added all of the time. The video collection is also growing and now includes many new videos of Disney's California Adventure.
The New Look
The overall look of the site now reflects the changes made to the structure of the content. The site now features tabs to easily and quickly switch between sections. The link box on the left remains static for each section to help speed access to content. The entire look was designed for ease of use and to allow Guests to quickly and easily find the information they are looking for.
Tabs
Each tab along the top provides Guests access to a different section of the site: News, Interactive Resort Guide, Theme Parks, Intercot Shop and the Gallery.
Links Within Sections
The link box on the left-hand side gives guests access to the content in each section. For example, when a Guest clicks on the Resort Guide tab, the link box on the left will contain all the content of the Resort Guide section.
On various pages the right hand side will also contain links. These links offer more information on content the Guest is currently looking at. For example if a Guest is in the Theme Park / Adventureland section, the right hand side will feature links to all the attractions, dining and shops in Adventureland.
A New Era
The changes at Intercot West and Disneyland reflect a new era at the new Disneyland Resort. What five years ago was just a park, albeit world famous, is now a destination resort. The new Intercot West reflects this update, to help make it a destination site for both regular Resort Guests as well as first time visitors. We hope you enjoy the changes at both the Disneyland Resort and Intercot West!
