The Disneyland Resort released an official press release today confirming the return of Disney's Electrical Parade to Disney's California Adventure on July 4th, 2001. "Over the past few years, we have received endless requests to return Disney’s Electrical Parade back to California," explains Cynthia Harriss, President of the Disneyland Resort. "In celebration of the first summer of Disney's California Adventure, we are thrilled to announce the return of Disney’s Electrical Parade - an all-time favorite of our guests and a California original." This week the buzz is all about the return of the classic Main Street Electrical Parade to the Disneyland Resort. While many were anticipating its return to the Magic Kingdom, a new twist has been put on the story: it just might be coming to DCA. Rumor has it that Guests could expect the parade to make its California debut as soon as July 4th.

Glowing, glowing, gone and back again. Once used as a marketing tool to bring guests into Disneyland, the Main Street Electrical Parade may once again be used to help slower attendance. Laughing Place columnists Michelle Smith and Jim Hill point out that the parade wouldn't be returning to Disneyland Park this time around. Instead it would encourage Guests to come check out the Resort's newest theme park, and stick around in the evenings to watch an old friend, helping to solve the problem of the quiet evenings at DCA.

MousePlanet's David Koenig also reports a parade return around July 3rd or 4th. MousePlanet reports the Eureka! parade would be cut back to one show a day, so that a large percentage of Cast Members could participate in both shows.
