New Additions to the Merriest Place on Earth

With fall rapidly approaching, it's time for everyone's favorite season to begin at the Disneyland Resort. And no, we're not talking about back-to-school - we're talking about holiday makeovers! The Merriest Place on Earth is looking to be spectacular this year, with its new sister park joining in on the holiday fun as well. In addition to the normal charm of decorations and ambiance, Guests can look forward to seeing extra holiday cheer at the Haunted Mansion, "it's a small world," and Paradise Bay in Disney's California Adventure.
Just over a month ago, the official press release came out featuring an all-new holiday look for the Resort's spookiest and most ghoulish attraction, the Haunted Mansion. With the help of Tim Burton, Disney Imagineering plans to give the Mansion a chilling "Nightmare Before Christmas" makeover. The makeover will take place during the month of September, and Jack Skellington will open his Christmas party to the public for the Halloween and Holiday seasons. Rumor has it the front of the Mansion will be covered in snow, with a large Skellington greeting visitors to the world of haystack Christmas trees and humorous decorations all done by Jack and his dog Zero. Mansion fans should look for a special holiday greeting from Madame Leota. The biggest changes will be taking place in the ballroom and graveyard scenes, where ghosts are trying (with some humorous imperfection) to celebrate a Christmastime of their own. Keep an eye out for tinsel and chilling gift surprises this year at one of Disneyland's most renowned attractions.
The other big change coming to the Resort is still in the rumor mill, but looking more and more likely. DCA will be joining in the holiday festivities with Luminaria, a fabulous water show out on Paradise Bay. The show is rumored to feature an "Enya" style of music, with a display of lights, lasers, and mystical sound. Check back to Intercot West as details emerge on DCA's newest entertainment attraction.
Of course, Guests can also expect a return of the now-famous "it's a small world holiday," in which the attraction is completely redone in dazzling colored lights to reflect a celebration of the holiday season all over the world. This attraction goes down for its annual makeover shortly and should be up and running in early November. Don't forget that lines are unusually long during the holiday season, so be sure to use the seasonal Fastpass that Disney installs especially for "it's a small world holiday."
Also on the agenda are the returns of the classic "A Christmas Fantasy" parade in Disneyland, along with the popular "Believe…In Holiday Magic" fireworks display that debuted last year.
Whether it be in the magic of a Disneyland holiday or in the adventure of a new DCA water show, Guests should be able to find something to suit their fancy this season at the Disneyland Resort.
