Soarin' Over California

Quoted by many as the best attraction in the park, this attraction gets over three to four hour standby waits on crowded days and thus makes Fastpass extremely popular. It is recommended that Guests obtain a Fastpass as EARLY as possible, preferably first thing in the morning in order to ride this attraction. This is especially important on summer days or weekends when crowds are expected to be high.
Entrance
Located in Condor Flats right off of the hub in Gateway Plaza, the entrance to this attraction is just past the Taste Pilots Grill. The Main Standby entrance is located to the left, and most of the time Guests will be sent right into the winding queue in front of the large hanger that holds the attraction. On other days the end of the line will be located back towards the Grizzly Peak Recreation Area when the line is longest. The Fastpass Return entrance is on the right hand side, marked with a small clock showing the return time and a Cast Member at the entrance checking tickets. The Distribution Center is located past the Main Entrance towards the Grizzly Peak Recreation Area, in a covered area behind all of the crazy pipes and Outdoor Vending Cart.
Distribution Center
A little hidden from view, the Distribution Center is off to the left for Guests facing Soarin's main entrance. It is covered by an overhang and behind some of the large colored pipes, one of which showers Guests with water on hot days. An Outdoor Vending Cart is also mixed in with these pipes and is right in front of the Distribution Center. Guests enter the center from the right (the attraction side) and obtain their Fastpass from one of the rusty fuel tank Distribution Units. Guests exit the Distribution Center out the opposite side towards Grizzly Peak Recreation Area.
Standby Line
As mentioned above, the Standby line for this attraction can grow extremely long extremely fast, especially on hot and crowded days. It is probably the most popular attraction in the park, and thus if Guests can obtain a Fastpass it is highly preferable to standing in line. The ride is not of very high capacity and that is why the slow moving Standby Line can grow up to over three hours in length. It is located right at the main entrance to the hangar that holds the attraction building.
Fastpass Return
Guests holding a Fastpass should return to the Soarin return line, which is located on the right side of the Standby entrance closest to Taste Pilots Grill. A small sign with an analog clock marks the Fastpass Return time and a Cast Member should be at the area to assist. Guests give their Fastpasses here and then enter the hangar, continuing straight down the queue surrounded by old airplane photos and pilots before making a right at the end and handing off their Fastpass to a Cast Member, where they will be directed further down to the right to a loading area.
