When to Arrive
Since the fireworks start right after the first evening shows it is difficult to get the better spots hours in advance. If you want to watch either Fantasmic! or the evening parade, all you have to do is stay basically where you are and turn toward the north to see the fireworks. Read where to sit, so you can choose an optimal spot for both the evening shows and the fireworks. If you aren't going to watch the evening shows, you'll want to arrive at the Hub in the center of the park about twenty minutes after the first set of shows have started. This will give you time to find a spot where you can clearly see the Castle and not get stuck in the crowds. Be warned though that once people start arriving in this area you will not be able to move one inch. Be sure to have all your snacks and take all your bathroom breaks beforehand.
Where to Sit
Disneyland's newest firework show is designed for optimal viewing in front of Sleeping Beauties Castle. Many of the fireworks and show elements are positioned so that they create a backdrop and frame around the Castle. Many of the fireworks are also non-aerial, which is a dramatic change from Disneyland's recent fireworks shows. The effect though created by these new style fireworks is quite breathtaking. Because of this reason I highly suggest trying to get a spot somewhere on Main Street to watch this show. The best spot that I have seen is somewhere near the Camera Shop/Coke Corner in the middle of the street. If you are near the hub the trees and the Castle may block your view of the lower level fireworks, so it is much better to be back a bit from the Castle area.
If you do not feel like fighting crowds on Main Street the Fantasmic! viewing area also offers great views of the new firework show. Though the Castle will not be in the foreground and you will miss a few fireworks, this area still offers a great view of the show. You can see 95% of the low level fireworks and all the aerials. Big Thunder Mountain will act as the foreground element for the show. Music is piped in through the sound system at the Fantasmic! viewing area so you will not miss out on any of that. This also acts as a great preshow for those guests waiting for the second showing of Fantasmic!
Show Summary
Believe, There's Magic in the Stars, is Disneyland's best fireworks show to date. Incorporating low level as well as aerial fireworks, guests are taken on a journey through a little boys wish on the stars. Though the show starts out slow, representing quiet star bursts in the sky, it definitely has a breathtaking ending. One thing you will definitely notice about this show is it's incredible timing with the music and the very soft explosions of the fireworks. No longer are loud bursts overpowering to the music, instead you will be able to focus on the amazing visuals presented to you. If there is one show you should see this 45th Anniversary, make it Believe, There's Magic in the Stars, it definitely is the perfect continuation of Disneyland's great fireworks shows.
