Who Wants To Be a Millionaire
Play It!

Type of Ride: Interactive show with complete audience participation
Rating: DDDD, awesome design, exactly like the real show, and the best way to play the real game - with great prizes too!
Length: 35 minutes
Average Wait: anywhere from 5-50 minutes depending on the next show time - Fastpass for next show is recommended because it explains when to line up
Fastpass Available
When to Ride: Any time of day works fine; it is air-conditioned in the studio so it's a nice break from the heat. The last show usually runs one hour prior to park closing.
Age Group: All, but extra fun for adults and fans of the show. This is a fun family attraction because kids are welcome to play along (and can even get in the hot seat!) but it's also something for the parents to do - who knows, the family could be making its next trip to New York if a member wins the million-point jackpot.
Special Restrictions/Considerations: Wheelchair Accessible. Assistive-listening devices are available, which Guests can obtain by visiting a Guest Relations booth. Reflective captioning is also available; Guests should contact a Cast Member at the attraction about using this feature.
History:Who Wants To Be a Millionaire - Play It! opened in early September, 2001 as a great addition to Disney's California Adventure. It was modeled after the ABC popular TV show - Who Want's To Be a Millionaire? with Regis Philman. The first version of the attraction opened earlier in 2001 over in Walt Disney World, Florida. Regis does a special taped intro to the show.
Location:
In the heart of Hollywood Pictures Backlot, nestled between Muppet Vision 3-D and Superstar Limo.

Description:
The simulation begins the moment Guests get into line - trivia questions are called out by Cast Members, and the winners of the correct answers receive special passes to sit in the special "Fastest Finger" seats with full screens in the front row of the studio audience. But other Guests needn't be discouraged, because EVERYONE (with the exception of Disney Cast Members!) gets to play along and is eligible for the hot seat regardless of their where they're sitting. Music, staging, seating and all look exactly like the studios in New York for the actual TV Show. A Regis substitute hosts the show, and the first Guest to win the Fastest finger question wins themselves a starting place in the hot seat. The show runs exactly like the one on TV, except there is a time limit, and Guests win prizes rather than cash for each correct answer: a collectible pin is won for each question answered, a baseball cap for 1,000 points, a T-shirt for 32, 000, and so on, up to the 1,000,000 point question which gives the Guest a trip for two to see the actual taping of the show in New York City! The ENTIRE audience gets to play along with the Guest in the hot seat, so be sure to stay on top of things and buzz in on the keypad as quickly as possible. The Guest in first place when the hot seat Guest loses is the next one to fill the seat! This is a great attraction and lots of fun for the whole family!
