History:
The Orange Stinger stood out boldly during the construction of Disney's California Adventure. Many shots taken of construction from outside the park show this bumblebee spinning adventure. It opened with the rest of Paradise Pier and the new theme park on February 8, 2001.
Location:
The Stinger is in the middle of Paradise Pier, nearby Burger Invasion and Pizza Oom Mow Mow. It is in front of California Screamin' and some of the larger attractions.
Description:
Guests board bumblebee swings and "buzz" around in a circle within a giant orange peel. The inside of the Orange Stinger even begins to smell like oranges when the ride is in motion, and the bumblebees actually buzz along as they go on their merry route. It is a guaranteed "stomach spinner" attraction and one for Guests with sensitive tummies to stay away from. However for those who like the dizzy adventures, this ride is a blast.
