Type of Ride: Simulator ride through the Temple of the Forbidden Eye
Rating: DDDD, A ride not to be missed
Length: 3.5 minutes
Average Wait: 30 minutes
Fastpass Available
When to Ride:
If you happen to be in the park before opening and are first in line to enter, or if you are there for magic morning entry, head straight for Indy. It only takes 10 - 20 minutes for the line to reach up to a half hour to a full hour, so unless your at the head of the pack you'll want to wait until later in the day. You will probably want to ride in the evening though, during Fantasmic!, people seem to forget about attractions during shows, so lines shorten up quite a bit during the show. Directly after Fantasmic! many people funnel into Indy's line, so it gets long for a while, but as the evening progresses it should be within reasonable length. If at anytime during the day you see the line starting underneath the sign and not snaking through Adventureland I would recommend riding.
Age Group:
This ride is for the older members of the family from pre-teen on up. Most children are not tall enough to ride anyway. Because of the fast pace action, and rapid movements you'll have to be pretty brave to handle this ride. But if you're a roller coaster aficionado you'll have no trouble adjusting to this type of ride.
Special Restrictions:
This attraction uses strobe lights as part of the show. Due to the nature of this attraction, expectant mothers and guests with back or neck problems or any other conditions which might be aggravated by this attraction (heart conditions, motion sickness, etc.), should refrain from riding. Children under the height of 46" will not be allowed to ride due to safety considerations. This attraction is not recommended for the faint at heart.
History:
Location:
Smashed between the Swiss Family Tree House and the Jungle Cruise. It is hard to tell it is there, but you'll know it by the masses of people.
Description:
The Indiana Jones adventure is one of Disneyland's best attractions ever, combining the thrill of a simulator type ride with the excitement of actually being there and seeing the show elements in front of you. There is absolutely no other ride at any theme park that is like this. Guests travel back into the 1930's,and not to mention through really long lines, in a true Indiana Jones movie setting. You leave the world of Adventureland, or spend a good half hour waiting in it, and enter the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. On busier days the line for Indy can curl around into Frontierland, but on most days it only reaches to the entrance sign of Adventureland.
Once inside guests get a glimpse of the inside of the temple and many bobie traps that have been secured by archeologists, or so many believe. The queue stretches for a very long time, in fact if there is a solid line it can take upwards of a half-hour to reach the end of it. Because of it's length Disney Imagineers have put in lots of extra's to keep guests entertained, including messages on the wall written in the language of Mara. You probably won't have enough time to decode all the writing on the wall because the line moves very quickly, but you will be able to get some of the content. Be warned, this is not a line that you will be able to find your family in again if you leave to go to the restroom or buy a refreshment. Guests are allowed to bring refreshments in with them, and there is one set of drinking fountains about half way into the queue. Guests travel through the temple entrance, past the obelisk of doom, through the flooded corridor, bat caves, the spike room, the and into a movie room. Here guests receive a strong warning from Indy's friend Sallah "not to look into the eyes of the idol, for it will be dangerous, very dangerous." Guests also get a chance to view recent news via the 1930's "Eye on the Globe", and they get a glimpse of Indy's very of Temple office and work. Guests then travel up a set of stairs, or elevator for handicapped persons, and wait on the loading platform At the stairs the line splits into two for a short period. I would recommend the right hand line, since handicapped guests are usually placed in the left hand line, slowing it down. It is here where the real attraction begins, although one can forget that the attraction hasn't even started because of the quality of the queue area.
From this point on guests are treated to a really bumpy off road ride through the temple. Along the way you'll be greeted by Indy himself, lots of bugs, a giant snake, rats, poison darts, and not to mention a rolling ball finale, which… well I'll just have to leave that one up to you to find out.

Reviews:
"I would like to say that I get (throwing up) sick on roller coasters, real planes, on a cruise we took to Hawaii, riding in a car or turning around in a circle too fast but for some reason I have never gotten sick on the Indy ride. I'm almost 50 years old and I've ridden it with my husband about 5-7 times and never have gotten sick.
"I am writing this to let people know that just because you may get sick on other rides don't let that stop you from trying this one. It's a wonderful adventure that I would hate for anyone to miss! After all it's only 3 minutes and there is so much to see that I think you don't really have the time to get sick. It's my favorite ride of all time.
"PS: you couldn't get me on Space Mountain for any amount of money. That one DOES make me sick!"
