Type of Ride:
Boat ride though the Jungles of the world, with lots of corny jokes
Rating: DDDD, a Disneyland original not to be missed
Length: 10 - 15 minutes, depending on the skipper
Average Wait: 30 minutes
When to Ride: Since this is the on of the first attractions people see when the enter the park and turn left they tend to go right on it. If you are one of the first people to head this direction I would say that is a good time to go. There are also many people who don't want to wait in line for Indy so they hop out of line and join the line for the Jungle Cruise. One of the best times to ride is in the evening during Fantasmic! and the fireworks since there is sometimes no line at all. This is also a good time because you get to see the jungle all lit up and some of your skippers jokes are a little better.
Age Group:
This ride is good for any age group. Young kids will love to see all the animals, and teens and adults will love to hate the skippers corny jokes, which at times are quite humorous.
Special Restrictions:
If you have trouble moving about it may be difficult to get onto this attraction because you have to step down into the boats.
History:
Location:
In the middle of Adventureland on the left hand side when walking toward New Orleans Square.
Description:
The Jungle Cruise is a 1930's tour through the Jungle via a defunct shipping companies rickety old boats. The workers, now skippers have organized these tours to make it through the depression and now your one of their suckers…I mean guests. Guests get to see lions, tigers, snakes, elephants, attacking natives, the backside of water, and rocks taken for granite. For adults the best part of the ride is some of the jokes told by the skipper, which at some points are so corny and obvious you'll not understand them. Each skipper tells their own variation of the jokes so if you visit this attraction more than once you'll probably get a completely different show.
When boarding this attraction you will probably want to take the left hand line. This side tends to run a little faster than the right hand line, probably because the port side boarding can accommodate more passengers than the starboard.

Reviews:
"This is without a doubt one of my favorite rides in Disneyland. I think the detail that went into the Jungle Cruise is quite extraordinary. Even in line you feel like your in the 30s with the radio playing and being interupted with news reports talking about "Indiana Jones and his latest discovery"."

"Love it. One of my favorite park attractions. Note this, Length: 4 to 12 minutes, depending on the skipper. Personally, longest trip was 10, but skippers will sometimes run up to 12 minutes just to be a pain to the boat behind them. Park closing, can run a boat around the track full throttle in under four minutes. Normal trips are 7 to 8 minutes long. It is encouraged that skippers not stray from script, but this rule isn't taken seriously. New variations are to be cleared with an area manager, noone does. However, even the strict script has variations for each scene.
