Walk past the floral Mickey at the entrance to Disneyland, and enter a quaint little turn of the century town based on Walt's hometown of Marceline Missouri, where you can wander through shops, and eat at any of Main Streets wonderful restaurants. Ride on a horse drawn carriage, or on of the first horseless carriages from Town Square to the Central Plaza. Main Street itself is a nostalgic view into a town where all can relive fond memories of yesteryear.
Tips:
Main Street is the walkway to the Central Plaza also known as the Hub, which is the gateway to the entire park. Main Street gets a very busy during parades and nighttime. The best time to walk through Main Street, for pure enjoyment, is in the morning when people are just walking through to get to attractions around the park. If you try to wander along the sidewalks or streets before, during or after the parades you may find it very difficult to move since there is almost no way to get across the street and the sidewalks are filled with people watching the running parade. These are some of the best times to wander through the shops though, since most people are trying to find spots for the parade. Main Street is also usually open at least one-half hour before the park opens and for one-half hour to an hour after the park closes. This gives a little extra time for shopping.
